It had been a long week. Noah had been knocked off the track after running into a ghost from his past, and now he was just trying to get himself back together. He was glad to be staying with Marvin right now. He was a good friend, Marvin, and when the two were hanging out together Noah just seemed to forget about all his problems. He found himself feeling glad that the front door of the house he'd been staying in with his mum - who was staying with some friends of her her - had finally packed in, having taken too much of a beating by the zombies. There had been several miserable attempts at just boarding it up, but finally the tiny family had had to admit defeat. The door just wasn't going to let itself get fixed.
Outside, the rain seemed to be coming down in sheets, but Noah wasn't really paying much attention to it. Occasionally he would comment on the noise it was making on the window panes, but anything to do with the weather was forgotten when the two men decided to get into an incredibly heated game of snap quite late that night. Noah kept looking past his cards to stare at Marvin suspiciously. There weren't many ways that you could cheat in a game of snap, but Noah wasn't putting it past Marvin to find one of those ways. He laid down one card, and another, and another. It went on for a while, in complete and utter silence, until Noah spotted a match. "SNAP!" he shrieked. "SNAPSNAPSNAPSNAP!" The former teacher dived for the cards, but whether or not he was actually going to get them was another thing.
It was then that a distant, muffled voice shouted something about "piping down". Noah put a hand over his mouth and sniggered childishly. "I hope we didn't wake anyone up," he said in a hushed whisper. Noah didn't sound very sincere at all. After that, he went quiet again. His expression stiffened with concentration as the two piles of cards began to grow again. Another pair cropped up before his eyes, and Noah didn't realise for a moment. "Ah, fuck! SNAP!" he shouted, completely forgetting about what had happened only minutes ago when he'd been shouting. Noah glanced at the wall for a moment, expecting another angry shout to come floating though, but it didn't. Instead there was a knock.
He looked at Marvin and grimaced. Noah was guessing that it might be a hoard of angry neighbours, but he could be wrong. For a moment he just looked at Marvin with a cocky smile playing on his face, and then he got up to go and open the door.

Marvin had to help a brother out by letting him stay in his apartment. What use was a living space without a front door anyway? There were still ghoulish things still creeping around out there - zombies and humans that have went nuts. It was also good to have Noah around in Marvin's apartment. They were spending more time together doing things that 'bros' do.
The streets outside were awash with rain. It was just plummeting down outside and there was little chance of it stopping soon. Instead of heading out, the boys opted for a game of cards, namely, Snap, which Marvin felt very competitive over. Hunched over at the table, Marvin's hand gripped his set of cards, whilst his other hand was flexing in and out of a curled fist, as if ready to swipe his hand down. His eyes were very attentive on the pile of upturned cards, paying no attention to what Noah was doing. He watched them as each of the cards turned. Just then, Marvin spotted a matching pair, and sent his hand down, but a little too late. Noah had got there first with a loud 'SNAP!' and Marvin blurted out his frustration. "OH DAMN IT GEE." He wailed through gritted teeth. Oh he was frustrated that he could not win, but as it was Noah, Marvin was a bit more lenient on him. He was not about to strangle his best friend over a silly game of cards. "Fine, you win," he grumbled. "Take your stinkin' cards, Gee." Marvin spoke, although he did chuckle a bit. He was just competitive. And he was having fun.
Marvin sat back, straightening his back a little and moved his head to stretch the muscles in his neck. He brushed a hand over his hair. The hat was off tonight. Though it was still sitting within sight. He then heard the same muffled voice behind the door. He turned his attention to it, rubbing the back of his neck. "Probably that couple next door," Marvin scoffed. It probably wasn't. Marvin had no idea who was at the door. "Anyway, back to the game, bro," Marvin said, readying himself to play the game once more. Although he could not concentrate. Marvin was anticipating more voices or sounds to come from the door. Noah 'SNAPPED' the cards up once again. "Dammit!" Marvin blurted out. He had more words on the tip of his tongue but a knock at the door caught him off guard.Yes. There was definitely someone there.
He mirrored Noah's smile. "If it's my sister can you tell her to just get lost?" Marvin rushed in just as Noah got up to answer the door. Lana was the last person he wanted to see just now. She was getting so annoying these days. He squared up his pack of cards in his hand, finally moving his gaze toward the door. He actually did expect it to be Lana. Who else would it be? It couldn't be his parents. He warned his parents not to turn up at his apartment. Funny how his relationship with his family was still the same as it was before the outbreak. You would think the Sullys would appreciate one another more, but they didn't. There was nothing different. [/style] |

Post by ELLIE MAY REED on Dec 18, 2012 19:41:02 GMT
A long week didn’t even begin to cover it for Ellie May Reed. Since the break in at the Safe Lands, she had spent the past few weeks recovering, now sporting a nice new battle wound just above her left hip, something that made the young woman feel extremely unattractive. Unattractive. Now there was a feeling that was completely alien to the young woman. I mean, come on, she’s Ellie Reed. Confident, comfortable in her own skin and more promiscuous than the average person would believe. But recently, the girl had become very conscious of her own body, covering up every inch of her torso and hiding out in the flat with Howl and Ethan. It was nice, finally making amends with her brother and she loved that they got to hang out a bit more, but he still had to patrol, as did Ethan – who she was still pretty wary of – and since she was still recovering nobody would really let her do anything. So naturally, she found herself getting bored and frustrated. So that afternoon, she waited until the flat was empty to slink off on her own.
She wondered aimlessly through the Safe Lands, past the barrier and back out on to those familiar streets of London where she continued to wonder, doing nothing but thinking. And then the rain came so she’d ducked into an abandoned house for shelter, raiding the cupboards for anything useful. Every body seemed to think she was incapable of helping out around the Safe Lands, well now was her chance to prove them wrong. The house didn’t turn up anything useful except for an enormous, expensive looking bottle of champagne. Result. She could stay here, drink (which she had been told she wasn’t allowed to do) and wait out the rain. She popped the cork and to took a generous swig as she moved through the rest of the house, rifling through drawers and cupboards. Half a bottle later and the rain showed no signs of subsiding. She had no idea what the time was, but she’d been out for hours and figured she should probably get back before anyone noticed she was missing. Bottle still in hand, she’d ventured out into the torrents, shivering as the icy water hit her skin.
A little while later, she was cold, soaked through to the bone and more than just a little inebriated. Staggering to a bus shelter, she set the champagne bottle down on the ground and tugged her shirt over her head to wring out the water that was weighing her down. At that point a zombie had lurched it’s way over and startled, the brunette had thrown her sopping shirt in it’s face and ran, but not before snatching up her beloved bottle a bursting into fits of giggles. Eventually she passed out, curled up into a tiny ball and cuddling her beloved bottle. She had no idea how long she’d been out for but the next thing she knew, she was being shaken awake by Daniel and after the confiscation of her drink and some arguing about who was sleeping, who wasn’t, who wanted to and where her shirt went, they were finally home. Ellie face planted the sofa and curled up.
When she woke up this time, the flat was silent and the bedroom doors were closed and guess what. She was bored again. She located the not very well hidden bottle of champagne (silly Daniel for thinking she wouldn’t find alcohol) and headed out in the wind and the rain once again, this time with a destination in mind. When she was this particular kind of bored there was only one place to go. You guessed it people. She’d been neglecting this person recently and in her current state, she couldn’t recall why. Completely forgetting about her recent insecurities and complete lack of shirt, she headed over to Marvin’s place. The rain stung a little as it pelted her flesh like millions of icy needles but being a woman on a mission, she didn’t care. Goosepimples raised on her skin as she stood at his door, dripping rain water everywhere. She rapped her knuckles against it gently and waited – in bra and shorts – for it to open. The moment it did, the brunette pounced. Her arms flew up and around Noah’s neck (accidentally bumping him with the bottle) and her body pressed snug against him as her lips found his in a lustful kiss.

Noah was this close to doing a little victory dance around Marvin's living room when he won both sets of cards. His eyebrows flicked up as he smirked at his friend triumphantly. "Did I not tell you!? I'm pro at this game!" Lies, all lies. Noah was usually terrible at snap. Anyway, being really good at snap was hardly anything to boast about, was it? It probably suggested he spent a lot of his life at home playing card games with his parents (which he honestly hadn't). "Couple next door, eh? At least it's not them interrupting you for a change," Noah said with a childish snigger. The man scooped his cards up between slightly chilly fingers and riffled them through his fingers. "Chicks dig guys that are good at snap," Noah said randomly. He came up with the most bizarre things at times, but he normally kept them to himself. Noah felt incredibly relaxed tonight though, and he was with someone he felt he could trust, so all those odd little snippets from his mind flowed out of his mouth easily.
He glanced over his shoulder just before he opened the door. "Lana? All right," Noah replied. He'd only met Marvin's sister a few times, and it was out of loyalty to his friend that he'd decided to stay frostily detached from her . Noah opened the door, a blank expression on his face as he got ready to apologise and promise to be quiet, or to tell Lana to "just get lost". What he saw however, was a dripping wet teenage girl, who seemed to have forgotten her shirt somewhere along the way. Noah was about to ask her what was up, but he didn't really have time. "Marfghjhvin helghp," Noah mumbled through a mouthful of someone else's face. His eyes were wide open with shock as he grasped the girl's shoulders and held her still as he stepped away, just in case she decided to throw herself at him again. Well, Noah wouldn't be able to blame her.
He let go of the girl's shoulders, a small whine emitting from his throat when he realised he'd been teaching girls maybe a little younger than her last year. "Who's this!?" Noah demanded, looking at Marvin and jerking his thumb in Ellie's direction. He still looked most displeased as he dragged the back of his hand across his mouth, as if the girl had left diseases all over his face. Noah straightened his glasses, as they'd been knocked askew by the young woman who'd just pounced him. He looked between the newcomer and Marvin, looking for clues that might lead him to her identity. Whoever it was, he had a feeling she wasn't on the list of people he was meant to send away. Noah shrugged and went to slump down on the sofa again, leaving the girl to come in by herself. Normally he would have been able to laugh that sort of thing off, but today he wasn't in the mood. He looked down at his hand and resisted the urge to pick at the stitches there.

Marvin did get competitive, though he didn't mind a silly card game with his best friend. He had no real grudge against Noah if he won.....Alright perhaps he did a little. That was just a natural streak that Marvin had. He hated losing and wallowed in winning. "Pfft, whatever bro. I bet I can kick your ass at something else," Marvin warned. He was confident that he could. When there was a sound at the door, Marvin couldn't stop shaking his head. "Heh, well, guess that does make a change," he joked on the subject. His thumb edged through the cards as Noah got up to answer the door.
It was a mysterious girl.
As the girl latched onto Noah and enticed him into a kiss, Marvin gripped his cards steadily in one hand and stared hard at them uneasily. He was slightly thrilled by what he could see, that his friend was getting some action, but his discomfort shadowed that more than anything else. For a moment he thought it was his sister that pounced on Noah. Even more shocking, she looked half dressed, and her skin was paler than usual, which was strange. In disgust Marvin hopped to his feet, tossing his cards down. They scattered onto the floor. He didn't care. "Lana you slag!" he hissed angrily. "Get off my friend!" He took a few broad steps forward, getting closer to them, and catching Noah's shocked mumble. As he approached them, he was ready to prize them apart. However he discovered, much to his relief (at first), that it was not Lana, but it was another girl.
It was not just any girl it was 'Destiny', a girl that Marvin met in the motorcycle club. Momentarily the discomfort mutated into a sharp sting of jealousy. Marvin stepped back from them and breathed out hotly, watching with envy. "Destiny?! He rung out. Destiny was her name to him. He thought that was her real name for she told him that that day. "What you doing here?!" It was all he could ask. Just as Noah and the girl broke apart, he was attentive on his friend once more. His dark eyes were wider than before, as if he was clueless on how to answer Noah's question.
Finally he attempted an answer. "She's..she's....someone I met outside the Safe Lands," he hurried out, however he was still provoked by what had just happened. He then looked to the girl, dragging his eyes across her body. Why was she half naked? Usually Marvin was excited to see a woman so scantly clad, but right now he was more confused than anything else. "What, what is going on? You been stalking me or something?" Marvin asked. It was a question off the top of his head. He couldn't think of anything else to say. If the girl had turned up under normal circumstances then he would be thrilled to see her, but right now he was confused. He had some attraction to the girl, and was confused (and irritated) that she had just snogged his best friend.
Snap was one thing, but over a girl is something else. [/style] |

Post by ELLIE MAY REED on Dec 29, 2012 21:06:09 GMT
Ellie was almost completely oblivious to the fact that she’d latched on to the wrong guy, though it was highly unlikely that it really mattered to her in her current state. She did however begin to frown through the kiss a little bit. Something was different. Marvin hadn’t been this tall before had he? She was certain he’d been shorter. It wasn’t like him to try and push her away either. Her thought process didn’t last long as it was interrupted by her victims mumble and the angry hiss of a familiar voice. And then she and Noah were apart and she took the time to actually look at his face. For a brief moment, an expression of confusion crossed her features. ”Wait… You’re not…” Frowning, she turned her gaze to look at the number on the door. Nope. She definitely had the right place. ”Le’go’v me,” she told Noah, though her tone wasn’t at it’s usual icy level. She wriggled her shoulders in an attempt to shrug him off. Then she heard that familiar voice again.
She turned to face a more than displeased looking Marvin. She caught the spark of envy in his expression and it actually made her feel good. She stared blankly at him when he spoke her fake name, momentarily forgetting that he was, in actual fact, referring to her. ”Destiny?” She asked. ”Who th- OH! You mean me!” She pointed to herself, accidentally jabbing herself in the chest as she remained where she was, dripping on the doorstep. ”Ow…” She muttered, before answering his next question. ”Just caught the bus to the neighbourhood and thought ‘Hey! Why not visit my old friend Marvin…’” Voice trailed off and her eyes widened with the sudden realisation that she hadn’t just been imagining that she’d just kissed a random stranger. She looked between the two boys several times, empty hand curled around the back of her own neck awkwardly, flattening her sodden hair. She fought her growing smile with an almost apologetic look at Marvin, but couldn’t avoid the short snort of laughter that escaped. ”Woops?” was all she had to say on the matter.
She could see the jealousy gnawing away at his insides like a caged hamster trying to escape and as Noah spoke, she turned her attention back to him, managing to jump in before Marvin cut her off with the truth. ”I’m the ghost of Christmas Past… Who the f-“ Someone I met outside the Safe Lands. She rolled her eyes. He couldn’t have offered up a better answer if he’d used Google! While Marvin was busy looking over her, she had another generous helping of champagne, pulling a face as some of the bubbles fizzed up her nose. And then Marvin was speaking to her again. She stepped inside and closed the door behind her. ”Well aren’t you all sunshine and rainbows today…” she said cheerfully, patting his chest before answering his question. Hand moved up to stroke the side of his face gently. ”Stalking?” She asked, laughing as she moved past him and further into the flat, dropping into the first empty chair she came across. The rest of her response was delayed slightly as she tried to focus her vision. ”Of course not! I’ve actually been avoiding you!” She smiled, finally able to make out the nine of clubs laying face up on the table. She turned her blue gaze to Noah, holding the champagne bottle towards him. ”So who are you?” she asked him.

Noah acknowledged his friend's attempt to help, though this definitely was not Lana. He wasn't really sure how he was meant to get out of this trap, and instead stood rather uselessly for a few seconds, a few tumble weeds blowing through his mind as he processed what was going on. When he finally got free, he stared down at the girl, hands still firmly on her shoulders as if she was about to try and come back for some more. "No," he said with a shake of his head. He might have even felt a little sorry for her if he wasn't feeling so irritated. "I'm not." Noah took his hands away hurriedly when the mystery girl told him to let go, because he was starting to feel really, seriously distasteful, even if he hadn't been the one that had started snogging the face off the girl. His hands were damp with rain water, and he rubbed them against the back of his fraying, falling apart jeans as he went t sit back down.
Noah looked sharply at Marvin as he cried out the girl's supposed name. A smirk etched at his features and he looked at the girl and her slow reaction to that name. "Destiny!?" asked Noah with a laugh. He looked at Marvin. "She's having you on, mate. That can't be your name," he added, and he looked at Destiny questioningly. After this slight outburst, he fell quiet again, his expression slowly going back to neutral, and he watched the girl interacting with Marvin. He mumbled something indignant. "Whoops indeed," said Noah with a scowl. He didn't like being kissed out of the blue like that by a complete and utter stranger. It was safe to say that he wasn't best pleased.
Brown eyes glued on Marvin as the man told him quite vaguely who the girl on the doorstep was. A bit of a smile tugged at his lips at her answer, but he tried not to let it show too much. Noah cleared his throat awkwardly, noting that the stranger seemed to be rather familiar with Marvin, and he got up. He had a feeling that it wasn't good that she'd just kissed him instead of Marvin. Stepping into the bathroom momentarily, he scooped up a dry towel, and a dark t-shirt that was waiting to be washed. Noah walked back into the living room then, hesitantly, and chucked the bundle of material in the girl's direction. "Make yourself decent, missus," he said a little brusquely, not wanting to admit that her lack of clothing was starting to make him feel a little uncomfortable.
Noah glanced at Marvin apologetically before turning his attention back onto the visitor. "Noah," he replied, and he stared at her over the tops of his glasses. "What are you doing out so late?" he asked nonchalantly, tone suggesting that he actually couldn't care less. All the while his eyes were flicking from Marvin to the girl, from the girl to Marvin. He felt an awful lot like a third wheel right now, especially if that kiss that had been meant for Marvin was anything to go by.

Yes, he was talking to her. Was the girl that drunk she forgot her own name? Arms defensively folded across his chest, and he leaned against the front door, one leg briefly balancing on the other. "Yeah, that's her name. I think?" The young man turned his head to one side and scrutinized the drunk girl with a suspicious look. He took her name as the truth before, but now he was increasingly growing dubious of her. At last he pushed his short frame off of the door and stood by Noah's side.
Marvin was still a little pissed at the fact 'Destiny' had just snogged Noah, even though she admitted it to be a mistake. Actually, he was still annoyed even though he was starting to believe she had mistaken Noah for Marvin himself. He turned his head and took a few moments to measure Noah's reaction. He didn't look too pleased either. At least he wasn't rubbing it in his friend's face. Then Marvin's anger and jealously would kick up a notch. To fill his short spell of silence he unintentionally played Captain Obvious. "You drunk?" Marvin stated, dark eyes fixated on her and eyebrows raised.
Head bowed as to look at her hand as she patted his chest. Strangely enough he enjoyed it when she stroked her palm over his face, though that didn't cloud the annoyance he was feeling right now. Irritably he clicked his tongue. "Sunshine and rainbows? Well let's just say I really didn't expect a half naked, drunk woman who resembles a drowned rat!" He spat out bitterly, intentionally insulting her. Maybe he was convincing himself that she was stalking him. He was starting to believe it. Hands raised and slowly he clapped them together in a sarcastic, heavy and steady round of applause. "Clever. You are avoiding me and turn up at my flat. Very very clever," he spoke dryly as he dropped his hands. He was in a bit of a foul mood now. 'Destiny' was in his apartment, and he figured she wouldn't be too easy to remove, now that she had plopped her drunken self on an empty chair.
Marvin suppressed a laugh as Noah tossed a towel at the girl. Marvin wouldn't have thought about helping her out like that. At least Noah had the heart to help her dry off. he was mulling over ideas on what to do with her. Part of him wanted to kick her out. Another part of him wanted her to stay so that he could make a fool of her in front of Noah. Alter all, it appeared she liked the challenge. It was mean, but Marvin was far from caring.
He listened to Noah's question, and chipped in with another. "Yeah did someone boot you out on your ass?" He chuckled away rudely. Monetarily he leaned in toward Noah, and muttered to him behind clenched teeth to keep himself quiet. "Bet she has. Look at the state of her," He then flaunted his teeth through a wide grin. A laugh then fluttered from him as he left Noah's side and threw himself back down in his seat, fixating his gaze on the girl once again. Maybe he should just let her stay so he can make a fool of her. He wasn't sure what Noah wanted to do, however. [/style] |

Her eyes trailed Noah as he moved to sit down and she found herself smiling broadly at the questioning look that he threw her way. ”Of course it can!” she told him cheerfully, though there way an underlying tone in her voice that she hadn’t been entirely honest with Marvin when they first met. As she thought about the name, her smile grew and the slightest of giggles sounded from her throat. She couldn’t have picked a more ridiculous name and in all honesty she couldn’t even remember why she had lied about her name in the first place. She rolled her eyes at the stranger as he mumbled, catching his scowl. ”Oh lighten up!” She told him with a dismissive wave of her hand. ”S’only a kiss. Weren’t meant for you anyway.”
Attention turned back to Marvin as he questioned her current state. Holding up her empty hand, index finger and thumb roughly an inch apart, she answered. ”Maybe. Jus’a li’l bit.” She sighed at Marvin’s harsh response and her hand dropped away from his face. ”It was only a kiss!” She reiterated. ”What’s the big deal?” She really didn’t see what the problem was. It had been an honest –and in her opinion, easy – mistake to make though she made no attempt to redirect the gesture to the correct boy, feeling that the moment for spontaneity had well and truly passed.
She hadn’t noticed that Noah had disappeared as she continued speaking with Marvin. He was being particularly unpleasant this evening. She didn’t get it. ”Have been,” she corrected him, stumbling as her shin connected with the coffee table. She wobbled dangerously, but managed to steady herself. She didn’t finish until she’d flopped into the arm chair. ”As in was. But not any more…” She balanced the champagne bottle lazily on her leg and closed her eyes only to be disturbed by Noah’s return and a towel to the face. The T-shirt had separated itself from the little bundle and hooked over the top of the bottle, its momentum tipping it and causing some of it’s contents to spill. She hurriedly righted the bottle and pulled the shirt off of the top of it though she made no attempt to put it on just yet. She stared at the material in her lap and finally set the bottle down on the table, using the towel to pat at her damp hair as Noah introduced himself. She was about to answer before Marvin cut her off and she looked at him again, shaking her head. “Nobody kicked me out. Daniel wouldn’t do that to me. Nope. Jus’ got bored, s’all,” she told them both. She sighed again as Marvin continued to be cruel. ”I dare you to go stand outside in that and come back in looking any better,” she challenged.
When she had finished patting at her hair, she folded the towel up as neatly as she could and placed it on the arm of the chair before finally pulling the T-shirt over her head. She hadn’t realised how cold she was until she put it on and she was suddenly quite grateful towards the man she’d never met before. ”Thanks Noah,” she said with a smile. ”Sorry ‘bout the whole thing at the door. I’m Ellie.” The poor girl hadn't even noticed her monumental slip up and just continued to snuggle down into the cozy little arm chair. Whoops.

With each passing second, Noah was starting to get more and more suspicious. He might not have felt this way, but he'd seen this sort of prank a thousand times when he'd first started teaching for real. Noah raised his eyebrows at Marvin, giving the man a knowing look. Noah was sure he was right now. He rarely doubted himself. Noah continued to scowl at the teenager, his shoulders set in a tight, defensive line. "Good," he said sulkily. "It was rubbish." There was no way he was even going the slightest suspicion that he had liked it. He hadn't. "I feel like a cradle snatcher," whined the man under his breath. He looked at Marvin briefly with a rather distressed expression on his face, brown eyes wide and his eyebrows furrowing together.
The man felt just a little bit uncomfortable with the heated conversation going on in the next room. He wasn't someone who felt uncomfortable very easily, but what with everything that had happened recently, he'd been feeling on edge for a few days now. Noah had been intending to only make this a short visit, but with the tiff going on next door he decided to hang around in the bathroom for a few moments longer. He closed the door behind him, and, closing his eyes, leaned his head against the door. He counted to twenty. He wasn't sure why he felt so stressed all of the sudden, but he had a feeling it was something to do with the appearance of the bedraggled teenage girl.
Noah emerged minutes later and went to sit back down again. He looked at the girl, an flash in his eyes that was just daring her to refuse his instructions for her to dry off. Noah glanced over at his friend at the sound of Marvin's voice and smiled nastily, for a moment allowing some of the frustration he was feeling towards Ellie to be let off. "That's what I was thinking," he murmured in reply. Noah turned his attention back to the girl then. "You got bored?" laughed the man. Noah cast a glance towards the window, thinking about the world outside of that glass pane for a moment. He hadn't been bored since the zombies had happened. He'd either been sleeping, working, or fearing for his life. "He wouldn't come back in half naked," Noah pointed out snappily. "Did the rain burn your top away or something?"
His gaze stayed mostly averted from Ellie in an almost determined fashion. Noah looked away from the window once more when he heard his name, and he smiled momentarily at Ellie. "It's fine," slipped in the man. See, he wasn't a completely awful person. There was kindness in him somewhere, and some people had even had the chance to see it. The Worker looked at Marvin with a quirked eyebrow. "So much for 'Destiny'," he murmured. It felt good to be right, though he didn’t think it would be a good idea to voice this thought out loud.

Upon Noah's claim that her kiss was rubbish, Marvin barked out a laugh. It was not playful or impish, it was more malicious than anything else. He didn't believe Noah, but he loved the fact he was making a fool of her. However his laughter was cut off as the girl explained it was not meant for him. Marvin's interest was piqued. Eyebrows lifted. "Who was it meant for then?" Marvin asked her. He only hoped it was meant for him. Although he had a bit of a push-pull relationship with this Destiny girl, Marvin wouldn't mind eating her face off just for the fun of it. However, Noah's comment on being a 'cradle snatcher' made Marvin think twice about that. He never knew this girl's age, but she did look young.
He was looking at Destiny with a look of disbelief. "Li'l bit? HAH. Yeah right," he drew out sarcastically. "I dunno. You're just being random and plainly annoying," Marvin then spoke firmly, deliberately trying to wind her up. Eyes traced Noah's steps as he left the room. He hoped his friend wouldn't be away for too long. Something told Marvin things could get heated between himself and this girl. He might have wanted that, but Noah would still be around.
Mouth gaped open as the bottle tipped over slightly on her lap. "Oi! Watch my chair!" Marvin shouted at her with warning. He was not really caring if she spilled a little. Marvin was far from being an OCD freak, however Marvin wanted to demonstrate to 'Destiny' who the boss of this apartment was. He heard another male name being dropped into the conversation. Daniel. Who was that? Her boyfriend? One thing Marvin was not keen on - girls with boyfriends. They just tangled things up and often Marvin ended up fist fighting a boyfriend or two because he tried to hook up with his girl. Marvin glanced away from her for a moment, looking to Noah with a certain mischievous smile curling on his lips. Head nodded in agreement to what his friend was saying. "Exactly," he agreed with enthusiasm. "I don't choose to walk about in the rain in your state. You obviously did." He stated his case clearly. He loved having Noah on his side. He loved having people backing him up. It made Marvin feel more important, and his ego cherished moments like that.
For a few moments Marvin was staring at Ellie. It was a blank, stoic stare, like he was day dreaming. He stood in silence as Noah and the girl briefly conversed. However, the girl's real name grabbed Marvin from his little day dream and tugged him back into reality. "Wait...what?" He instantly furrowed his eyebrows. Marvin took a step in her direction. Rather rudely he pointed at her. "Your name is Ellie?." He breathed out. He shot a look of disbelief to Noah. "Yeah I found it hard to believe that was her name too." Marvin slipped in to his friend. Although he didn't really let on that he completely bought her lie. Now that pissed him off - he had bought her lie, like an idiot. For a moment he felt like an idiot. Now Ellie was his scapegoat. He looked at her with narrowed eyes. "You lied to me? Oh you are one cow," he snapped at her heavily, voice a little too poisonous. "Bet all your family names are lies too. What was it...Harmony? Melody? Sugar?" 'Sugar' was actually one that Marvin had guessed. He couldn't really remember which ones were were the names she told him. Normally Marvin would laugh at the mention of such names, but he was far from amused. [/style] |
