OVERALL APPEARANCE: Halle dresses just like you would expect your favorite, neighborhood librarian to dress like. Usually a nice pair of dress pants, matched with a blouse of matching color, and then maybe a cardigan or blazer to finish off the look. Of course, that was way back in the old days before the world went crazy. Right now you'll usually catch her in whatever she can get her hands on, which tends to lead to t-shirts, sweaters, and jeans. The only piece of her old wardrobe she has managed to hold on to is a simple gold chain bracelet given to her by her father.
With her curvy figure it is hard to believe that Halle is really a part of the defense team, but don't let her looks fool you. You don't have to be some overly muscular thug to take out a zombie, which Halle proves nearly everyday during work. Also, despite nearly always being outside Halle's a pretty pale girl overall. Her biggest weakness would half to be the fact that she tends to be a bit deaf sometimes due to a run in with a Banshee. She managed to survive, but now she's got a bit of a hearing loss and she tends to get headachea really easily.
In addition to having a womanly body, Halle has also got a feminine face. The most striking of her facial features are her puffy lips, often coated in some light shade of pink whenever Halle finds herself a little makeup.

OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Introverted - Halle is literally the definition of an introverted person. She enjoys spending large amounts of time by herself, usually spent reading or just spacing out. She doesn't waste breath with needless words, such as small talk, but instead if very direct and to the point when she talks. Halle often won't even bother from small talk, and if a conversation is going no where she is perfectly happy to just sit quietly, which can often be a little uncomfortable for the person trying to talk to her. Despite popular opinion, being introverted doesn't mean you are shy, and Halle busts that myth everyday. She loves meeting a new stranger to chat with, as long as they have something interesting to say.
Optimistic - Being optimistic during the end of the world is a good trait to have, as so many people often view the world negatively after all that's happened. While Halle's optimism can sometimes be refreshing, a nice break from the predominately negative thoughts, at times the girl can overdo it a bit and becoming just a little annoying. She's the girl who goes around trying to cheer people up, even if those people don't really want to be cheered up.
Nosy - Not exactly one of the best traits to have, but a trait Halle has nonetheless. She is a very nosy girl, and often gets caught sticking her nose where it doesn't belong. If she hears an interesting conversation going on she'll just invite herself into it whether the other participants like it or not. Usually, however, Halle doesn't take such an aggressive approach to being nosy. She simple listens to people, often when they think no one is listening, and that has lead to her hearing quite a few things she shouldn't have heard. For a girl who is hard of hearing she's certainly heard quite a few secretes, which is kind of ironic.

COMPLETE HISTORY:
Ingrid grew up on a house of literature, with her father being an up and coming mystery novelist. She learned how to read at a relatively young age, due to her father's patient training, and ever since she learned the ability she's been using it to read massive amounts of books. That love of reading put so early into her life eventually persuaded her to take after her father and join the literary occupation by becoming a librarian and sometimes author. She is, of course, a daddy's girl as well because of those early experiences.
For a few years Halle got to enjoy being a spoiled only child, but eventually a pair of twins came along after her, one new younger sister, and one new younger brother. While at first baby Halle wasn't all that nice to her younger siblings, after a stern talking to from her parents and quite a few time outs she learned to be a little kinder to those squirming, pink, loudmouths. Once grown up those two little twins were a lot closer to each other than to Halle, causing those earlier feelings of dislike towards her siblings to emerge. As it was Halle was a pretty introverted little girl, and with her siblings banding together and leaving her out she eventually became the little black sheep of the family.
As a teenager, due mainly to her feels of constantly being left out, Halle went through a bit of an goth phase. Black clothes, black makeup, handing out with all the other "dark" kids and writing "dark" poetry. Due to her outlandish clothing she was a bit of an outcast in high school, leading to her having just a small group of friends as oppose to her siblings who were often surrounded by large groups of friends. In addition to her school friends she also grew really close to her Nana Truelson, who during the last few years of her life lived with the family. She was the one family member who Halle always felt close to, the one person she felt really comfortable around, and when she died during Halle last year of high school she become a little bit more withdrawn.
Towards the end of high school, due mainly to the death of her Nana, Halle decided it would just be better for everyone if she got over her jealously of her younger siblings and just started to be herself, so that is exactly what she did. Needless to say going away to university was probably the best things she ever did, because getting away from her family for a bit greatly help to tenderize her feelings towards them, the wonderful powers of homesickness. At school she began her studies to become a librarian, which would take a few years.
During a breaks from university she came home to her family where her father pulled a few strings and was able to get her a part-time job at the local library. It was during one such school break, while working at the library, that the world fell apart. For weeks now their had been rumblings about something strange going on, but no one really knew what it was. Well, needless to say, when a loud bang at the window behind her desk caused Halle to turn she realized what all the rumbling at been about when she found herself face to face with a blood stained zombie that was nearly breaking the glass of the window with the force of it's blows.
While she wasn't sure what was going on, Halle knew it wasn't good. Thank God she has never been one of those women who are prone to panic, so with a clear head she worked to evacuate the few library patrons through a back door that lead right to the parking lot, and then she locked up the library and managed to drive the short distance home with very few incidents. During the drive she did notice more of those crazy looking people, which she had no other world for other than zombie, and even though she'd managed to keep a clear head for list long she was slowly starting to lose it.
Upon arriving home, thankfully her neighborhood seemed to be one that hadn't yet been effected by this new plague, her family along with all of her neighbors where a frenzy of activity as they all desperately where packing and trying to leave. As Halle jumped in to help her parents explained to her what they had learned from the news, and explained how their was a mandatory evacuation. While most people seemed to be heading to safe areas set up within the city, Halle and her family where headed to their summer cabin which was located in a very remote area which her parents believed would be safer for them.
And they were right. For months the cabin in the woods was their safe asylum. For the first month they still had cable and internet, so they were able to stay connected to what was going on in the larger city areas, but after the first month they lost that and had to rely on infrequent radio broadcasts to get an update on the world. It wasn't long after that when they began to run out of supplies. Thankfully there was a fresh water stream that ran through the woods nearby to their cabin that they were able to filter and drink, but food was a much more difficult matter. Halle's father and younger brother often went out to scavenge in the small rural towns nearest to their cabin, but the more they went out the further they had to start traveling. It was dangerous going, especially given the fact that they only had one hunting rifle with limited ammo, and then just an ax and other home improvement tools they'd turned into weapons.
Of course the entire family knew that one day something was going to happen, but even with that knowledge Halle was shocked silly when she woke up one night to the noise of roughly ten zombies trying to break down the front doors and windows. Just as she roused everyone in the cabin from their sleep the first wave broke in, which were quickly put down by her father with a few bullets to the head. However, their weren't enough bullets for all of the zombies. As they tried to retreat out the back door more and more zombies entered through the front.
Her father tossed her the rifle, with only two bullets left, and instead armed himself with the ax while her brother took a hammer. As Halle busted out the back door, shooting a zombie in the head to clear a path through the woods, her little sister ran out of the house and straight into the woods, the last time Halle would see her but she had no way of knowing that. It was then that Halle turned back to tell the rest of her family that the coast was clear, when she spotted the Banshee zombie standing in the front doorway.
She's hadn't seen too many different types of zombie during their months in the cabin, but she knew there were certain ones that behaved in different ways. She barely had time to think before the Banshee opened it's mouth and screamed. Halle was the furthest away from it, but she still felt her ears pop and an overwhelming sickness take over her stomach. Screaming, but unable to hear herself, she back outed of the cabin and collapsed in the back yard.
It took her a few minutes to regain her sense of hearing, although it didn't seem to work as well as it had in the past. When her ears had stopped ringing and she was able to think again she was amazing that no zombies had attempted to attack her while she lay defenseless in the back yard. When an ear splitting shriek ripped through the air she realized why the zombies hadn't attacked her, they were too busy eating her mother, father, and younger brother.
Looking in the cabin through the back door she couldn't see where her mother or her brother where, obviously already overwhelmed by the zombies. She could, however, see her father, hacking into one zombies head with the ax even as another one latched onto his arm and bit in. Acting with a surprising sense of calm despite all the horrors that had just unfolded, Halle reached for the rifle at her side and took aim at her father. Through the few radio reports they had managed to pick up they had heard the only way to kill a zombie was to destroy they head, and that once someone was bitten they were as good as dead.
In the last second before Halle pulled the trigger her father looked back at her, making eye contact just a second before a bullet lodged in his head and the zombies swarmed over his dead body.
Halle doesn't really remember much of what happened during the days after that, mainly because she was in a state of shock. She stuck to traveling in the woods, sleeping only a few hours a day, and barely surviving off of water she found in streams and edible plants she happened to walk by. When she finally recovered enough from the cabin incident to think straight she realized there was no way she'd be able to survive on her own.
The last radio broadcast they had picked up had talked about a safe area not all that far from their cabin, and so that is where Halle headed. By the time she arrived there, weeks later, she was severely dehydrated and malnourished, but she had made it. It took awhile for her to recover, both physically and mentally, but as soon as she was well enough she took a job working for the defense. After seeing her family destroyed in a matter of minutes she wanted to make sure that no one in the safe zones had to suffer through what she had to suffer though.
Although Halle seems to have recovered from the incident she really hasn't. For starters she constantly thinks of her sister, wondering if she is dead or alive, and if she is alive wondering if she is safe. In addition to that the cabin incident left her physically scarred, with her hearing severely lessened and a tendency to get headaches very easily. Lastly, while she tries to put on an optimistic face to other people, inside Halle is slowly crumbling apart. Depression has taken hold of her, and although she tried to be happy she really just can't anymore. Lately the idea of taking her own life has been coming up over and over again, and she is scared that if she doesn't find a good enough reason to stay on this earth she might do something drastic.
