OVERALL APPEARANCE: Calleigh’s appearance can only be described as someone who is struggling with the apocalypse. She doesn’t really take particularly good care of herself though perhaps this is because she finds it hard to. She tends to just grab what she can in the mornings, throwing on whatever she can find in the mornings. It’s not as if she wants to look bad, because she was actually rather fashionable back before everything went to hell, but with her boyfriend gone, and the fact she is all alone in this world, she often finds herself not even seeing the point in making the effort to look nice. She is, however, practical, knowing to protect herself if she ever goes out into the streets and she will rarely be uncovered walking outside.
To those who see Calleigh, they sometimes see her as quite baby-faced, and innocent, hence one of the nicknames given to her over the years, but she is hardly innocent, and most people learn this very early on. Most days, she will almost always be concentrating on something, leading to a wrinkling of her nose and a frown. As for the way she looks, other than her features, she is generally a very withdrawn person in the way she stands, often curling her hands around her, though this is probably more to protect her baby than herself, and it is a habit she has picked up a lot over the last few months, even before zombies were wandering around. She tends to protect her stomach more than any other part of her, which is perhaps foolish on her part.
Anyone looking at her would notice she expresses a lot in the way she stands and acts. She is a very expressive person and often speaks with her hands as such. It tends to get worse when she’s nervous, so it’s easy to notice. Generally though, one would see her as quite fragile initially, until she begins to open up a bit more. And it doesn’t really take long to get her to open up if the person in question is gentle with her. And when she does open up, she holds herself a lot more confidently, not drawing in on herself so much. She will still curl her hands around her stomach, though this is a habit she will probably never get rid of, at least not until the baby is born.

OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Calleigh has changed a lot in the past few years, while she was once very immature and very naïve and had a tendency to make friends with anyone she meets, her life in this new world has changed her, though perhaps for the better. Now, while still friendly and caring to those she holds dear, she is more reluctant to let new people into her life, and has developed a certain amount of paranoia, more for other’s wellbeing than her own. She has become much more of a mother figure in others eyes, always offering to help others when they seem to need it. She had no worries about making a fool of herself and is full of energy. She tries hard to impress people and loves it when people compliment her for whatever reason. She is clever simply through her own hard work and commitment. She is very studious and when she was younger, whenever she was not outside with her friends, she is often inside working. She has always understood the value of hard work, and can be sensible when she needs to be. This doesn’t mean to say she likes it but she will work hard if it gets her to where she wants. So, in a way, you might say that she is fairly ambitious.
She once had a love for photography and could always be caught outside with a camera taking pictures of whatever she can. Perhaps she would say now that she mourns the loss of things that she loved. She misses the silly things, of course, but she still hasn’t entirely got used to what kind of world she lives in. Since she was a child, Calleigh has had mild dyslexia which was the main reason why she chose to pursue a nursing career instead of a career that involved writing when she was younger. She wouldn’t shy away from writing though, and would sit in her room for hours, writing paragraph after paragraph to help her write better. She misses her nursing job dearly, but she is also too stubborn to find her way to the Safelands to get a job as a medic. She is too attached to her childhood home, and this has often got her in a lot of trouble. But despite all this, she still practices what she knows in her spare time, even going so far as to plan to deliver her own baby in her childhood home.
However, she knows that as her pregnancy goes on, she will have to stop working so hard, though it’s her need to live that sometimes makes her want to do more work than she should. She is the kind of person who would do anything for anyone if they asked. She would never turn someone away and would do her best to help them in any way she can. She loves to laugh and will always be the one to lighten the situation if it seems to be taking a turn. Generally though, Calleigh is a very clever and artistic person who will do anything necessary to get where she wants. Once she puts her mind to something, she will see it through to the end and won’t give up until it is finished. She can be a bit stubborn, not wanting to do anything else until her task is complete. She is more talented at hands on work than essays and writing, for good reason. She will never shy away from a fight though, protecting her life in whatever way she can.

COMPLETE HISTORY: Calleigh is the only child born into the Monroe family. When she was a child, Calleigh often invented ways to occupy herself, without any siblings to play with. She was always one to invent new games to play on her own, or paint pictures that her grandmother requested from her. When she was five, her parents decided to try and let her meet other people instead sending her to nursery a short way away from her house. While her mother had been the braver and more outgoing one at school, her daughter, Calleigh tended to be the clever one. Calleigh always thrived at school and always tried her hardest to impress her teachers. Calleigh was a very popular child and had a large group of friends. She loved being around people but she still spent time with her family. Calleigh was always a very academic child who was top of the class most of the time through her own efforts. She was always closest to her family even when she attended boarding school at the age of sixteen.
At school, she always used to take part in everything she could, joining every club possible. She became a talented cross country runner at her primary school and discovered a love for photography in her final year. It was a welcome change for her as she had always been used to working so hard in class due to her dyslexia, and when she had her camera, it came naturally to her and she didn’t have to make such an effort. She was reluctant to leave her school and even shed quite a few tears because of it. She was quite nervous to go to secondary school though she had a place in a prestigious grammar. Her mother had attended the boarding school before her and couldn’t have been more proud of her daughter when she received an offer to attend, though the early days were hard for Calleigh who was reluctant to leave her beloved family to go to boarding school.
But when she did go, she found that the entire atmosphere was so much better than she had thought. And like in primary school, she always tried her hardest to get good grades. It didn’t take her long to learn of just what she needed to do to get a job as a nurse, a job that had fascinated her during her time in school. And for the most part, her years at school went relatively quietly. She succeeded in her classes even from as early on as her first year. The reason she was gained her place became very apparent as she grew up becoming a very successful student during her time at the school. When it came to exams, Calleigh became quite a reserved person who focused on her exams, but it all worked out for the best as she succeeded in getting the grades she wanted to start her training.
As soon as she graduated school, Calleigh went to complete her nursing training in Edinburgh, living with her grandmother up there while she studied. She became very close to her grandmother in the three years while she studied there, and she found herself falling into a group of friends that she loved. When she was twenty-five, she met Abe Martin, after he came to her to ask her for help one night out in Edinburgh, after he was involved in a fight that he started. Being who she was, she helped him, despite the fact that everyone else just saw him as a foolish drunk. And he asked to see her again, even after she had bandaged his cuts and had no reason to see him. But for some reason, she found herself agreeing, giving her mobile number to him the night she left him at his house so he could go home and get some sleep.
Over the next few months, the two became closer, Abe becoming something more than just the foolish drunk all his friends saw him as, until they started dating a few months after they met. They were together for almost a year before Abe found a job in Reading, England and Calleigh moved with him to live in a little apartment in the centre of the city. And a few months later, Calleigh found out she was pregnant with his daughter. For them, life was perfect, and how could they think any different? Even at her age, Calleigh was more than ready to start a family and the two of them set themselves into planning for their new arrival. Until one day, when they least expected, their house was raided by people who they had thought were thieves, until Abe knocked one out with a baseball bat and the two of them really saw what was going on.
She doesn’t remember much of the hours that followed, but she remembers running, getting into her car, trying to grab for Abe and having him ripped from her hands before she could do anything. And all she could do was slam the door and drive. She found herself in London, at the family home where she was desperate to find someone there, but everyone was gone, and she didn’t know what to do. So she holed up in the house, refusing to leave, barricading the door, only leaving to collect necessary supplies. And she heard of the Safelands a few times, rumors, but she couldn’t bring herself to travel that far to seek safety and so she stayed in the house, more scared to leave than anything, taking each day as it came to survive.
