OVERALL APPEARANCE: Dylan is usually seen in a military type attire, due to him once being a Captain on the SAS in Britain. He can always be seen with a gun in his hand, be it pistol or rapid fire M14. You can always hear his dog tags jingling when he walks and despite his age, he can still get around just fine. He can run across buildings and run for long distances, thanks to his intense training. He can survive in severe cold and heat and stay under water for long periods of time. He's like a machine.
The scar over his eye is from friendly fire one might say. He had been on a mission and his friend turned out to be a bug and betrayed them. To get away, he lashed at Dylan with a bowie knife, nearly taking his eye with him, this causes him to be half blind. He has learned to cope with this but his eyes look a bit odd due to the mis coloring after healing. As for his tattoo that was earned at the beginning of his service. He and his friend whom is deceased, both got the same tattoo. Of course, the bullet hole scars are from deeply imbedded bullets that he has suffered from in his service.
Usually one would think he would find something else to wear other than his military attire, with the flak jacket that sports his last name and the ammo belts with a few extra grenades attached. Or even his two pistol holsters on his thighs. But no. He kept them after the outbreak and even has a few changes in the bag he carries on his back. He usually has multiple guns but never too much. He wants to move fast but he can do that even loaded down due to his training. He likes to keep his hair shaved to a somewhat or complete buzzcut, saves him having to wash it, seeing as there isn't many supplies these days.

OVERALL PERSONALITY: Upon meeting Dylan, he is a huge skeptic, he will not come out right aggressive but he will take the safe route and have you stay a certain distance. Unlike others he analyzes things before he goes all willy nilly into a place. He's a cautious man and has learned to react quickly when something happens. Once you get accepted by him, somewhat, he can come off a bit aloof and will only answer really needed questions. He does not tend to give away his supplies seeing as it was so hard to find them. He's hard to make friends with and doesn't like to get too attached to others, due to his past. He will also tell you straight up how he feels about you. He's a bit of a honest and blunt brute.
Like all people, he has his strengths and weaknesses and fears. Dylan has a terrible fear of sharp objects. He doesn't like to get into knife fights or climb broken fences. He hates walking over broken glass and the list goes on. This is from his trauma of getting blinded in one eye. Speaking of that, he is completely blind in one of his eyes, leaving him with only half of the world. He also has a fear or dislike of spiders and will turn into a five year old girl around them. Other than that, his dislikes consist of blood and bad smells and cats, arrogant people and being ignored. He dislikes blood because he's seen so much of it and bad smells make him sick to his stomach, so killing zombies is a plus for him. He hates cats because his ex-wife had one and well now her and the cat are dead.
Now, he does have his likes and strengths. He loves chocolate and whomever doesn't is weird to him. Every now and then he will have a fit over the lack of chocolate in the United Kingdom. He also prefers alone time to being in a group which makes others question his affiliation with the Safe Lands. He also prefers the cold to the heat though he can survive in both weathers fairly well. His strengths vary and a few of them are surviving in multiple environments. He can also put a man or woman on their ass fairly easily and has quite the trigger finger. He can reload quite quickly as well. He can think quickly in certain situations as well.

COMPLETE HISTORY: From birth Dylan wasn't very loved. His family was always away, his father across the seas or his mother at the hospital. He basically raised himself and locked himself away from his parents when they were home. His parents were loving but he had learned to hate them. At the age of sixteen, his mother was killed in a car accident and this devistated his father but had no effect on Dylan. After the funeral and everything, his father retired from the military to take care of Dylan but he soon learned of his son's hatred for him but he never went back to the military. At the age of eighteen, Dylan left his father to join the military. This saddened and made his father happy at the same time but Dylan had left without telling his father anything.
Upon joining the Army, he was quickly at the top in basics. He had a drive and attitude not many soldiers had and because he refused to let others in, he was the perfect soldier. On one year in leave at the age of twenty three, he found and married a girl from his High School Avery Jennings. After his marriage to her, he was sent back to duty. He and Avery did not like each other in school and some said it was a ticking time bomb for them to be married. She always wanted kids and he didn't. He did not want his son or daughter to go through what he did. He and Avery were constantly fighting as well. It was never anything new.
The only person that got close to him was John McInnes and they got matching tattoos together. Soon, after years of serving, at the age of twenty five, he and John were accepted into the SAS. On their first mission, John was shot and killed, in each shoulder and then the forehead, trying to save Dylan. This seemingly did not affect Dylan and no one knows if it did or not. After th At the age of thirty two he made it to Captain and lead a team of his own for two years before him and his team were lead into a trap and he was attacked by his own soldier for 'betraying' them when he was just as betrayed as they were. This is where he got his scar. After being tortured and then saved, he was brought home to his wife.
He was on leave to recooperate when he killed his wife. She was being a good wife too but one night when he was having nightmares, she attempted to wake him and he killed her. He was arrested and charged with murder but was miraculously released and sent to Iraq to fight with the American soldiers. He spent many years of his life here, refusing to take leave. Here he was hated by the others, because he was heartless when really he was protecting himself from pain. He was still a captain and in his years in Iraq he killed enough Iraqis for two men. He also let a number of soldiers die and made many enemies with his blunt honesty.
Finally, they made him return home. His house had no lights and the food was nasty. But he stayed there anyways, ordering takeout when one day he was getting his pizza and a forlorn being came to the door, along side the delivery man and nearly ate his face off. This was Dylan's first incounter with the undead. He immediately made his way to the nearest army base and found everyone dead. He stocked up on what he could and left to find himself a safe place. This is where he found the Safe Lands. Somehow he was accepted and he was brought in as a defender. Now his only goal is to survive.
