FULL NAME: Elizabeth Darling
NICK NAMES: She hates being called 'Liz' with a passion. Other nicknames include: Lizzy, Red, and/or Darling.
AGE AND BIRTH DATE: 25, July 9th
SEXUALITY: Bisexual
NATIONALITY: American
MEMBER GROUP:
STYLE AND APPEARANCE
HAIR COLOUR AND STYLE: Elizabeth's hair is red. While it's mostly straight, it does have a bit of a natural curl. Right now it's pretty much a mess though as she can't properly fix it. What she wouldn't give for some shampoo and conditioner.
EYE COLOUR: While at times she can have a doe eyed expression, most of the time Elizabeth has an intense stare. She has been hardened by recent events and it clearly shows in her dark brown eyes.
BUILD: Slender
HEIGHT AND WEIGHT: 5'6, 118 LBS
TATTOOS: None
PIERCINGS: Ears.
SCARS: Nothing major, but there are several faint scars on her body from trying to survive.
ANYTHING ELSE: Nothing notable.
OVERALL APPEARANCE: Elizabeth isn't picky about her clothing and she's rational about her attire. This means if she finds something in tact that she'll wear it. Now isn't the time to be picky about what she feels the most comfortable in or what makes her feel pretty. Basically any clothes she gets her hands on is up for game. One outfit that she has recently salvaged is a beige blouse that she wears with faded blue jeans that have holes in the knees. She couldn't care less about style--just practicality. Tucked into her jeans she keeps a Px4 Storm Compact that belonged to her late husband.
For her height, Elizabeth is average border-lining on being considered underweight. Although one could chalk it up to the zombie apocalypse and current lack of food, she was always on the smaller side even before. Elizabeth has soft features which can give her the impression of a sweet, naive young woman. This, however, is a rarity. Most of the time she has a somber or agitated expression on her face. Elizabeth has a pale complexion. Although she's out in the sun for long periods of time she doesn't tan and instead only burns. She takes great pride in her appearance--or at least she used to. There isn't much she can do for personal hygiene and it bothers her immensely.
There are always several bruises on her body from everyday living (bumping into things while trying to run away from zombies, accidentally dropping things in certain situations, etc). On the inside of her arms she has several light scars from cuts that she keeps hidden beneath long sleeves (weather and availability permitting). She used to keep her arms wrapped in bandages before she quickly discovered that was a waste of supplies.
GETTING TO KNOW YOU
LIKES: Children, Being Right, Dogs, Her Gun, Flattery, Adrenaline Rush
DISLIKES: Zombies, Climbing, People, Cats, Her Mother, Realizing a Mistake After the Fact
STRENGTHS: Intelligent (though not as she likes to call 'book smart'), Physically Fit (while she may not be incredibly strong, she had amazing cardio and enough upper body strength to lift herself up), Sharp-Shooter (her late husband taught her how to shoot before his untimely death), Brave (she's not afraid to take the lead), Focus (she doesn't let things deter her from her goals).
WEAKNESSES: Stubbornness (she's not one to cave in; it's her way or the highway), Lone Wolf (she tends to avoid people to the best of her abilities, though in her opinion this would be more of a strength than anything), Secretive (she doesn't like to talk about her past, not because she hated it, but because she doesn't think it's relevant), Intimacy (she tends to use it as a stress relief), Recklessness (she's not afraid to take the lead...and sometimes she'll charge on in blindly; she's a bit self-destructive that way).
SECRETS: Sometimes when thinking about what she has lost and her fears coming true, she becomes reckless and self-destructive. Sometimes she wants to die and she isn't sure if it's strength or fear that keeps her going.
FEARS: The infection has somehow spread across the world despite the UK being quarantined and her daughter has been infected and killed.
GOALS: Getting back home to her daughter.
QUIRKS: If you break through that hard shell of hers she can be a bit silly. She tends to joke a lot and use sarcasm, though it's mostly a defense mechanism.
HABITS: She has a really bad habit of running away from people and situations. She also tends to call people an idiot a lot.
OVERALL PERSONALITY: Before the zombie apocalypse Elizabeth was an easy going kind of gal. She had a baby girl and a loving husband. But as everything turned around them so did she. The woman found it rather easy to adjust to the new harsh ways of life.
While Elizabeth has her moments, she's usually very difficult to get along with. The woman has a temper and she's certainly not afraid to cause a fight. She's steadfast in her beliefs (and she believes that she's always right). Some may say she's a bit unstable and perhaps she is. She is unpredictable and can turn on you in an instant. Most of her time is spent alone as she doesn't work well with others People are a liability and a risk--one that she's not willing to take.
She's not all bad though. At times there are glimpses into the person that she used to be. This usually happens when she encounters another survivor that needs help. Although she'll want to ignore them and continue on alone, sometimes she'll think of her fiance. Thinking about him is one of the few things that keep her holding on to her sanity. It's his voice she hears playing as her conscience and if not for that nagging then she'd be no better than the Bandits.
Although she never had a proper education, Elizabeth is wise where it counts. She may not read things like Dostoevsky (or even know how to say his name), but she has common sense which seems to be something a lot of people lack now-a-days. Having spent time out on the streets before the fall of civilization, she's a bit savvy when it comes to that sort of thing.
Elizabeth is an independent and hard-headed girl that has come from a tough background. It's only served to make her stronger though. She doesn't like feeling weak or being unable to do something. Elizabeth's the kind of girl that can take care of herself and she's not afraid to let you know it.

COMPLETE HISTORY:
When Elizabeth was young she spent most of her time with her grandmother. Her father left her mother before she was born and the woman spent most of her time fighting a drug addiction. Unfit to care for her child, Elizabeth's grandmother taught her the life lessons that a mother should have. Though her guidance Elizabeth grew into a sweet, well-mannered young lady.
Around ten years old her grandmother grew ill. After her death, Elizabeth returned home to her mother. The woman continued her old ways, not giving a second thought that she had her child living with her. Every weekend she would bring a new man home and sometimes during the week. When Elizabeth was sixteen years old she grew tired of her mother's actions. Having saved up all of her lunch money, she was able to buy a one way ticket on the bus to Chicago. Elizabeth left home and never looked back.
For a year she lived on the streets soliciting papers that no one seemed to want to buy to tourists. That's how she met Jory, a dancer at a local gentleman's club. Elizabeth moved in with the older woman and her three roommates. They would alternate who got to sleep on the couch, the bed, and the floor of the small one bedroom apartment. Elizabeth was just happy to have a roof over her head.
As soon as she turned eighteen Elizabeth was able to get a position at the same club Jory worked at as a bartender. Elizabeth still had issues with men due to her father's abandonment and her mother's careless escapades. While she could have been a star employee due to her work ethic, her attitude with the customers held her back.
When Elizabeth was nineteen she discovered she was pregnant. She didn't know who the father was (a random patron at the club, but she couldn't put a face to the one night stand). Taking an unpaid leave of absence from work, nine months later she had a healthy baby girl whom she named Julie. A few months after her daughter was born she went back to work. Half of her earnings went towards daycare. While her co-workers volunteered to help babysit, Elizabeth refused to bring her daughter into the environment.
When she was twenty one she met Nathaniel, a cop celebrating a friend's bachelor party. The two hit it off. Though initially she declined his advances he continued to pursue her until she said yes. They had a healthy relationship and he treated Julie as if she were his own. After a year of dating the two moved in together and shortly after that he proposed. They were married in the fall (though she kept her maiden name) and went to London on their honeymoon leaving Julie with his parents.
During the trip to London is when everything began. The place was soon overrun. It was almost impossible to get to safety. She watched so many people die in front of her eyes--a traumatic experience for her. That's when she started thinking that the world was changing.
Being a police officer, Nathanial had knowledge about firearms. He managed to procure his gun front the hotel where they stayed (a hassle to get through customs, but as a law enforcement official not impossible--and he never went anywhere without it). While they fought to survive, he taught Elizabeth how to use his weapon. Although she was a natural shot, she still didn't like using a gun because the recoil and noise was a bit overwhelming. This is something she would eventually learn to get over.
They lasted a handful of months on the supplies they'd taken, but soon it was time to replenish. Nathan told Elizabeth to stay put, not wanting to risk anything to happening to her. He gave her his gun to protect herself while he was gone and sat out on his own. She waited patently for him to return, but he never came back. Night fell and she began getting worried. Despite her promise to wait for for him she went out to search.
He'd gone to a nearby strip thinking it would be a quick one stop solution. When Elizabeth arrived there was a horde of the dead surrounding the place. Nathan stood in the middle of the group, now one of them himself.
Now the only thing she has left is her daughter whom she’s fighting hard to return to.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE: (From a fantasy RP that has nothing to do with zombehs.)
This man was laughing at her! Well that just ticked her off and made her even more furious. With a ‘humph’ she turned her head away from him only looking back over her shoulder once he’d calmed himself down. Elizabeth wasn’t sure to take his bow as a sincere gesture of respect or a condescending one to mock her, but she turned back to face him all the same. Her harsh gaze didn’t let up though as she continued to bore her stare into him.
Reluctantly Elizabeth held her hand out for him to shake, giving a sigh. His compliment didn’t go unnoticed and while she tried to hide the fact that she found it flattering, she wasn’t doing a very good job. Not very many people found her temper and personality to be a positive trait. Of course she had to remind herself that his words might have been nothing more than a ploy to take her off guard, but she liked to pretend that the Captain had meant what he’d said.
“I’m not one to let such things get to me,” she responded, her eyes lingering on his decorated arm. “If I were to go home then by the end of the day I’d mostly likely forget this brief encounter. It certainly wouldn’t haunt me. If anything you would be the one mourning the missed opportunity.” There was a slight smirk on her face as she lifted her head to look at him. There he was grinning again. Oh, how she just wanted to slap that smug look off of his face!
She’d been debating in her head whether or not to accompany him. It wasn’t as if she hadn’t linked arms with riffraff before (though the last time she’d done so she’d been forced into it with a knife to her throat). Still, as far as company went, it could have been worse. At least the man had an odd charm about him so it wouldn’t be too embarrassing to be seen together (though she probably still would have found herself linking her arm with him regardless if only not to let him win the little game he was playing).
Looping her arm though his she held her head up high while trying to block out how it probably looked to those on the outside with two of them, complete opposites, walking side by side. “Elizabeth,” she informed him, feeling no need to say anything more than that. It was all the information about her that he needed and all that she was willing to give up.
